Respect and Success for All

PSHE

Our PSHE curriculum has been created using 'Jigsaw - The mindful approach to PSHE' scheme of work  which integrates personal, social, health and economic education with emphasis on emotional literacy, mental health and SMSC, especially spiritual development.  The aims of our curriculum are:

  • To build children's capacity for learning.
  • To equip children with life skills.

The whole school programme of lessons, music and assemblies is underpinned by mindfulness philosophy and practice, aiming to give children the awareness to observe their thoughts, feelings and context in order to be empowered to make choices.  This enables the management of emotional states and builds resilience and self-esteem.

The range of topics ensure a comprehensive coverage of PSHE education and Citizenship issues which include: community and participation, safety (including e-safety), health education (inc. RSE and Drugs Education), difference and diversity, personal relationships, the environment, financial capability, globalisation, social injustice, growth and change.
